Founded in Warsaw in 1995, the Szymanowski Quartet has developed into one of the most exceptional international string quartets of its generation. Their sophisticated programs present a perfect balance between intellect and passion, characteristics that have captivated audiences at festivals and concert halls throughout Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Australia.
Described by Joachim Kaiser as a skilled and captivating interpreter of Schumann’s music, Marina Baranova relesead her debut CD „Baranova plays Schumann“ in 2012. She performed in concert halls and festivals in Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Benelux, Poland, Israel, Latin America and Thailand. Alongside her career as a classical pianist, Marina’s interests also lie in cross-genre projects drawing inspirations from Jazz, Conteporary Classic and World Music. She is also a talented composer: her latest CD „Firebird“, where she collaborates with renowned percussionist Murat Coşkun, is completely made up of her own compositions.
For over two decades, Grammy-nominated klarinet virtuoso David Krakauer has been reinventing and remixing the Jewish music of his ancestry with the sensibility of a contemporary musician strongly informed by funk, jazz and hip-hop. Starting with his work with The Klezmatics and then his early recordings on John Zorn’s Tzadik imprint, Krakauer has forged an incomparable musical path that’s included landmark collaborations with luminaries like funk legend Fred Wesley, the Kronos Quartet, leading symphony orchestras, rappers, celebrated composers and musicians of all kinds.
Frank Bungarten has played on the most important stages in the German-speaking world, such as the Berlin Philhamonic, the Kunst and Kongresshaus Lucerne, the Gasteig Munich, the Salzburger Festival, the Schwetzinger Musikfestspiele, the Schleswig Holstein Festival, MDR Musiksommer, the Niedersächsische Musiktage and numerous guitar festivals from the Mediterranean to Scandinavia and from Dublin to Havana. In addition to steady recognition by the music press, his CDs were awarded the “Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik” (German music critics award) and the “Audio Reference” (Audio Reference Prize). 2005 and 2011 Frank Bungarten was honoured with the “Echo Klassik” as “Instrumentalist of the Year”.
Australian pianist Ashley Hribar, is a prize- winning solo artist, improviser, composer and chamber musician. Presenting music of yesterday, today and tomorrow, he has dazzled audiences worldwide not only with his technical mastery and fine musicianship, but through his intense performance energy. Winner of the 2005 International Gaudeamus Interpreters Competition in Amsterdam and the 2008 Michael Kieren-Harvey Fellowship, he has since become a leading advocate of contemporary and20th century music. He has worked with numerous living composers including Felix Kubin, Helmut Lachenmann, Matthew Shlomowitz, Adam Page and Frederic Rzewski.
The internationally renowned percussionist, Murat Coskun gives concerts worldwide with his solo program "Rhythms of Life" and with international musicians and ensembles such as the Giora Feidmann Sextet, with Kudsi Erguner, the ensemble Early Music Freiburg, and the ensemble FisFüz, at numerous concerts and festivals including in Mongolia, the United States, South Korea, Africa, the Near East and Western and Eastern Europe.
Based on his study of music ethnology and his Oriental studies, he serves as an intermediary between the musical worlds of the Orient and the West, draws from a large music repertoire of the most varied of cultures and deals with many directions of style such as Jazz, world music, early music, classics and experimental percussion.
The music of Wlad Marhulets has been performed far and wide by world-class musical organizations, such as Lyric Opera of Chicago, Detroit Symphony, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Sinfonietta Cracovia, the Lithuanian choir Jauna Muzika, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra and others. He has worked on such films as Hitman: Agent 47, starring Rupert Friend and Zachary Quinto, Ruby Strangelove Young Witch, directed by Evgeny Ruman, The Giver, starring Meryl Streep, November Man, starring Pierce Brosnan, Orchestra of Exiles, directed by Oscar nominee Josh Aronson, Ginosaji vs Ginosaji series directed by Emmy winning director Richard Gale, Sabotage, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Juggle & Cut by multiple award winning director Caleb Slain, and others.
